After the common preparatory period of intense suffering a quest to understand and directly realize the nature of reality, or Truth, ensued. Always with a focus on how this understanding/realization might be utilized to effect true transformation of the human being. Applied enlightenment. Religious and spiritual texts were studied. Meditation began. Zen was practiced for many years. Many thousands of hours were spent in silent sitting, in Yoga, in Qi Gong. Many thousands more were enjoyed being in the beauty and stillness of nature, the one thing that always made sense. Philosophy was studied. Psychological models were analyzed and many techniques experienced and practiced. A Course in Miracles was studied and practiced with rigor. The latest science across many fields became a fascination. Many transformational seminars, conferences, workshops, sesshins and retreats were attended. Entheogens of many kinds were experienced. Shamanic practices and plant spirit medicines were explored. Energy Healing classes across various modalities were attended. Somehow a successful career in fundraising, as a business owner, was enjoyed. Then a diagnosis of a brain tumor at 31 brought deeper realization and a change in focus. The role of teacher is embraced as an opportunity to deepen learning, embodiment and integration; as service and joyful exploration; a sharing of the means by which Truth be realized and a new world born through us, as an expression of the Love and creative spirit we are. Mostly a simple forgetting of self and allowing of the Love and Truth that we are to emerge how it wishes. It's even more fun than it sounds :-)
