We look around us and so many people seem to need our help. But are we moving from an idea of what we think we should do, or what we think should happen? Are we moving from an identity of ‘the very helpful or caring person’? Or are we really being sensitive to what is needed here, and allowing ourselves to be moved to help. Actually no one needs our help, unless the help comes from a genuine pull to move in that way. But it can be hard to discern the difference, especially when we have been taught that being helpful and caring is ‘good’. Let’s look together at how we can discern where this movement to help is coming from.
