Meetings In Stillness - The Natural State of Being. Self Inquiry meetings, meditation retreats and talks facilitated by Paul Hurcomb www.meetingsinstillness.com
From his early twenties Paul spent 15 years as a Buddhist and lived in a Buddhist community for some time. He engaged sincerely in various spiritual practices, retreats and learnt all the scriptures.
However it wasn't until his mid 30's when he became critically ill that the truth beyond his conditioned individual identity was recognised. At this point he knew that his experience had revealed something within him that no book, belief or technique ever could.
He experienced a change in consciousness from mind identity to Presence. This inner movement continued to mature and deepen over many years. During this time he spent long winter periods in Tiruvanamalai, South India. This sacred place is synonymous with the Advaita Self Enquiry teachings popularised by the great Indian saint Ramana Maharshi.
'Tiru' was where he met his teacher Mooji who showed him that even the sense of Presence, which is the most sacred feeling in a human body is not 'the final stop' as it too arises in an unchanging background of Awareness.
The Recognition of our Self to be Presence arising in unchanging Awareness is The Natural State, or Self Realisation.
Paul holds weekly meetings in stillness with small groups of people in South East England and regular retreats throughout Europe
